Multigrade Training

Multigrade (MG) education remains the only opportunity to provide education to children in far flung, sparsely populated areas of the Philippines.

Multigrade teaching is a complex and challenging task for teachers managing two or more grade levels at the same time. They struggle to provide learning opportunities for children within the curriculum, which is typically designed for monograde classes. The teachers need to be adept in management and instructional skills so they can work with pupils from different grade levels of varying ages, interests and abilities.

The Multigrade Training Resource Package (MG-TRP) has been designed as a support mechanism for the multigrade teachers. It is a collection of varied resource materials for the training of MG teachers. These materials will introduce the teachers to appropriate strategies and techniques, program options, and other policies and guidelines in the organization and operations of MG classes and/or schools.

The Multigrade Teaching and Learning Teachers’ Resource Book is a training manual for teachers of multigrade classes, and contains session notes and activity sheets using in training workshops.
